UD Las Palmas suffered their second straight defeat with a 3-2 loss at Eibar's Estadio Municipal de Ipurua on Sunday. A late goal from Jefte Betancor offered hope, but a stoppage-time red card for Iñaki González Zambrano sealed the result.
The team managed by Rubén De La Barrera started poorly, conceding twice inside the first nine minutes. Ander Madariaga and Álvaro Rodríguez, both assisted by Malcom Ares, gave Eibar an early lead. Las Palmas responded and Valentín Pezzolesi pulled one back in the 24th minute following a pass from Iván Jaime.
Late rally falls short
The second half began more evenly, but Javier Martón restored the hosts' two-goal cushion in the 62nd minute. Las Palmas, with the introductions of Betancor and Elías Romero, pressed and made it 2-3 with five minutes remaining.
Manager Rubén De La Barrera highlighted Enzo Loiodice's performance and expressed optimism about Kirian Rodríguez. "He has taken a weight off his shoulders and hopefully he can enjoy his day-to-day, his profession, and that allows him to get closer to the level we all know he has," he said of the midfielder.
This result leaves Las Palmas 11th in the Segunda División standings with 10 points. Forward T. Miyashiro, with two goals, is the team's top scorer this season. For the full squad status, check the squad section.
