UD Las Palmas is starting to make moves to shape its squad for the 2026/27 season. The entity has confirmed two movements that close the chapter of Estanis Pedrola and Nicolás Benedetti in the yellow team.
What happened to Pedrola?
The Catalan winger had been one of the priorities of the sports management after the good performance shown during the last campaign, especially in the second half, where he became one of the most unbalancing players of the team in attack. UD Las Palmas has officially confirmed that the conversations for his definitive incorporation did not come to fruition.
What happened to Benedetti?
The second confirmed departure is that of Nicolás Benedetti. The Colombian player, who arrived at UD Las Palmas during the winter market, will not continue to be linked to the club. His contract included an option that allowed the relationship between both parties to be extended for several years, but finally the entity has chosen not to execute that clause. UD Las Palmas is currently in 5th place in the Segunda División, with 73 points, 20 wins, 13 draws and 9 losses in 42 games, and a goal difference of +17, having scored 57 goals and conceded 40.
What's next?
The squad is still taking shape and the sports management is continuing to work on both the arrival of new reinforcements and the final configuration of a squad that will undergo numerous changes compared to the previous season. While the club is looking for substitutes to reinforce the offensive section, the sports planning is continuing to advance with the objective of building a competitive team that will allow UD Las Palmas to fight again for promotion to La Liga, currently 9 points behind leaders Racing Santander.
