Dinko Horkas leaves UD Las Palmas for 4.5 million to Al-Wasl

On Monday, UD Las Palmas announced the transfer of goalkeeper Dinko Horkas to Al-Wasl FC, a club in the UAE’s top division. The deal was finalized after Horkas was dropped from the squad for the Saturday match in Ceuta (0-2), when negotiations between the two parties progressed.

Financial and contractual details

According to club president Miguel Ángel Ramírez, Las Palmas will receive €4.5 million gross. The player and his agent will take a percentage of that amount, leaving the club with a net €4.2 million. Horkas, 27, joined the island club free in the summer of 2024 from Lokomotiv Plovdiv (Bulgaria) and signed a four-year contract until 2028.

Career at Las Palmas

In his first season, Horkas was the backup to Jasper Cillessen. After the Dutchman’s injury and subsequent departure, he became the first-choice keeper and finished a standout 2025-2026 campaign that attracted interest from several clubs. Since arriving, he has kept the goal for Las Palmas in 59 matches: 13 in La Liga, 41 in Segunda, two promotion play-off games and three in the Copa del Rey.

Al-Wasl will welcome him as their new goalkeeper, while Las Palmas will look to strengthen its squad for the coming season. The transfer was formalised on Monday, marking a significant exit for the island club.
