UD Las Palmas has joined the FNZN digital platform to boost football-related tourism in the city. The initiative, announced on Tuesday, offers fans historical routes about the club, practical information for attending matches, and a guide to enjoying the city.
FNZN is a platform specialised in football tourism that already includes other Spanish cities like Seville, Bilbao and Valencia. Through its website and mobile app, it provides interactive maps with points of interest around the Estadio de Gran Canaria, pre-match zones, restaurants and bars. "Football is lived with passion in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria," the platform stated.
The section dedicated to UD Las Palmas covers its foundation in 1949, following the merger of five historic local clubs, and links this heritage with other tourist attractions such as Plaza de España, the neighbourhoods of Vegueta and Triana, and Las Canteras beach. The aim is for supporters to combine attending a match with a complete tourist experience. "The 'yellow' fans, unconditional to Unión Deportiva Las Palmas, provide a unique atmosphere both at the Estadio de Gran Canaria and in the different places where they gather," FNZN added.
This launch comes at a time when the team is facing a tough run in the competition. UD Las Palmas currently sits 16th in the Segunda División with 11 points, having recorded three wins, two draws and five defeats in the first ten matchdays. Their recent form is concerning, with zero wins in the last five games (LLDLL), including a 0-3 defeat to Castellón last Saturday.
The team now has a chance to change the dynamic this Friday when they host Real Sociedad II at home, an opponent sitting in 19th place. A positive result could provide a boost both on and off the pitch. Fans planning to attend the match can check the schedule and details on our fixtures page.
The integration into FNZN shows the club's cultural weight in the city, beyond immediate results. The platform, accessible in real time with geolocation, aims to establish Las Palmas de Gran Canaria as an attractive destination for football lovers from across Spain.
